Tax Bill Information
The Town of Townsend has employed a lock box service for real estate, personal property, and motor vehicle excise tax payments. Payments are now sent to a Century Bank processing center in Reading, MA. Payments are deposited the day they are received at the processing center. This will expedite the task of opening and sorting mail, scanning, and ensuring payment totals match. The Collector's Office will still do the actual posting of payments to your account and is still the contact for payment questions. Payments can still be made in person at the Collector's Office in Town Hall.
Tennessee Gas Pipeline Northeast Energy Direct (NED) Project

Updated again... Due to the inclement weather in the region, Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, L.L.C. is postponing the NED Project open houses scheduled this week in Milford (NH), Berlin (MA) and Fitchburg (MA).
Kinder Morgan has rescheduled the Open Houses.KM-OpenHouses.pdf

On December 8, 2014 Kinder Morgan altered the Tennessee Gas Pipeline Northeast Energy Direct (NED) Project filing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to change the preferred route of the natural gas pipeline.  The alternative path would follow existing rights-of-way along the utility lines in Southern New Hampshire.  There is still a lateral pipeline planned to pass through Townsend that would impact 65 landholders.

More information on the Tennessee Gas pipeline project is available here
More information about the High School Building Project is available on the Project web page. If you have a question about the project please click on the “Have a Question” link at the top right hand side of the home page. http://www.nmhsproject.com/
